Waiting and Waiting...

I'm hoping either today or tomorrow my Celtic shamanism books arrive. I emailed the person I bought them from and he said he had them shipped out late last week. They may just be taking a while to arrive but I can't help but being concerned. IBM5_25 is having a similar problem with ordering a laptop that, as he puts it is coming from "two crazy guys in Canada that run a car wash with a walk-in Linux store". Speaking of Linux, he wants to put a distrubution of GNU/Linux on my 486 computer when I get it running again, aka putting my new RAM into it. However, it'll require me putting in a hard drive larger than the 190MB default one that was on it when I got it. As far as I can tell, even with putting in a new IDE card and putting in the newest version of the Phoenix BIOS for my motherboard, it'll only recognize hard drives up to 2.1GB in size. Not much room to work with so I'll have to see just how much we can do when we get to it.

I'm also about to send in my application to the University of Iowa for next fall, with plans to major in microbiology. Mom has to get a money order first before I mail it in. My high school will send in my application with my high school transcripts and a community college I took some classes from are sending in my transcripts from them also. I also found out about the Scottish Highlanders, a student group that specializes in Scottish music and dance that I may consider being a part of once I go to Iowa.

Those damn books better arrive soon...
